Film Manufacturers Inc. is a Film and TV production company with offices in New York City and Munich, Germany. We produce both scripted and documentary stories that are entertaining, socially relevant, and inspiring.





THE TEAM
A two-time Emmy nominated filmmaker, Otto-Bernstein most recently served as a producer of Joyland, winner of the Cannes Jury Prize, the Independent Spirit Award and short-listed for the Academy Award in 2023 and Oh, Canada (Cannes, 2024). Nonfiction works include the HBO documentaries Absolute Wilson, Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures, The Price of Everything and the documentaries Beautopia, When Night falls over Moscow, The Need for Speed, Obsessed with Light, and Crossing the River. Otto-Bernstein’s films have been screened at festivals worldwide, including Sundance, Berlin, Cannes, Toronto, BFI etc. She has won the Silver Hugo [IFF Chicago] and has been nominated for Critics’ Choice Awards, Cinema Eye Award and GLAAD Awards. Professional memberships include WGA, PGA, ATAS, IATAS, and NYWIFT.
Katharina Otto-Bernstein | President
Kathrin Lohmann | Managing Director
Lohmann is an accomplished producer and the President of KJ Entertainment in Munich. Her credits include the feature films Maalsund (starring Ulrich Tukur and Sibel Kekilli), Jack the Ripper,7 Chats, The Lives of the Others (Academy Award for Best Foreign Picture); she was an executive producer of Joyland and the Amazon Prime series Für Umme. Non-Fiction producing credits include Absolute Wilson, Beautopia, Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures. Lohmann’s films have been shown in festivals worldwide, including Sundance, Berlinale, Cannes, and Toronto. Oleg Dubson | Head of Productions
Dubson is Producer and Head of Productions at FMI where he oversees the US-based projects. His producing credits include Katharina Otto-Bernstein's The Last Spy (Munich Film Festival, 2025), Paul Schrader's Oh, Canada (Cannes, 2024) and Saim Sadiq's Joyland (winner of two awards at Cannes Film Festival, 2022). He wrote, directed, produced, edited and acted in the short film Self (Berlin International Film Festival, 2010) and the feature film Barrel of Love (Distrital Mexico City Film Festival, 2012). As an actor, he has appeared in Bertrand Mandico's The Return of Tragedy (Venice Film Festival, 2020) and numerous films by Marie Losier. Dubson previously worked at Bob Berney’s distribution companies Apparition and FilmDistrict on Jane Campion’s Bright Star, Nicholas Refn’s Drive, Angelina Jolie’s In the Land of Blood and Honey, James Wan’s Insidious, and Jean-Marc Vallee’s The Young Victoria. He began his career in the marketing and publicity department at the New York Film Festival and Film at Lincoln Center. Federica Belletti | Creative Executive
Belletti is a Creative Executive at FMI. She began her career as a Location Manager in New York and later worked in development at Maven Pictures, Gamechanger Films and CounterNarrative Films. Her producing credits span a dozen award-winning short films including Refuge (The New Yorker), Nice Talking To You (SXSW), Ayaan (Sydney Film Festival), and Keep It Open (Mill Valley Film Festival). Belletti has also recently directed Aria (Palm Springs Shortfest), starring Pauline Chalamet. She is an alumna of the Tribeca Film Institute All Access program, BAFTA North America, and she is a graduate of the Columbia University School Of the Arts where she was presented the Katharina Otto-Bernstein Mentorship and the Arthur Krim Memorial Award for Excellence in Producing. Mona Maahn | Producer
Mona Maahn is a film producer from Hamburg, Germany, currently based in Los Angeles. She holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in film producing from Columbia University, where she was awarded the prestigious Michael Hausman/Filmhaus Foundation Award for excellence in producing. Mona has produced over a dozen short films, many of which have premiered at renowned festivals such as Palm Springs, Telluride, Hamptons, and Gothenburg. She served as associate producer on the critically acclaimed feature JOYLAND, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, winning the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize, and which later received the Independent Spirit Award for Best International Feature. Her professional experience spans notable companies including Blumhouse, Safehouse Pictures, and the leading management firm Entertainment 360. Bernadine Colish | Editor
Colish is an Editor whose collaboration with Otto-Bernstein spans over two decades. She has edited memorable documentaries including Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict, Herb & Dorothy, Truman & Tennessee, Ella Fitzgerald: Something to Live For, Love Cecil, Bringing Tibet Home, Body of War, A Touch of Greatness, The Tiger Next Door, The Buffalo War, A Whale of a Tale, Absolute Wilson, Beautopia and The Need for Speed. Her films have been shown on HBO, Netflix, Arte, ZDF, BBC and it has screened at festivals around the world inlcuding Sundance, Toronto, Berlin, Telluride, SXSW, Warsaw, Sydney, Busan. Her work has won numerous Awards for Best Documentary, including the National Board of Review, Chicago Film Festival, SilverDocs, has it has been nominated for an Emmy and a Critics Choice Award. Nicholas Otto-Bernstein | Production Associate
Nicholas Otto-Bernstein is a Production Associate at Film Manufacturers Inc. where he is in charge of office managment, day-to-day operations, communication and social media management. Otto-Bernstein is also an assistant editor with experience in Visual Effects who has assisted on the upcoming documentaries The Last Spy and A Test Of Civilization.
